Adrian Stewart
Owner/Director

We have over 40 years of experience, supporting and helping our customers fulfill their grinding and finishing requirements. Working with components ranging in size from just a few millimetres through to shaft lengths of up to 1000 millimetres and diameters up to 300 millimeters. We are able to machine all grades of Steel (Mild, Stainless, Tool steel etc.), Aluminium, Bronze, Brass and recently have had great success with Modern Composites for a new customer. We also have over a decade of experience in grinding delicate magnets such as sintered Samarium.

We specialise in working with all these materials, in all shapes and sizes, grinding or homing diameters and surfaces to tolerances of microns (Tenths/Thou's of inches for those working in old money!)

Owner/Director

Adrian is one half of the APS partnership. He is the Production Director, Quotation handler and Chief Inspector.

Adrian started his engineering career at the age of 15 and after completing his 5 years of training, has since gained over 40 years of experience of Grinding, Milling, Turning and drilling. This has included working with industries including Aerospace, Motorsport, Medical, Nuclear and many others.

Taking over a retiring employers business, he has now operated APS grinding for 6 years and seen significant growth every year.

Pat is the other half (literally and figuratively)of the APS partnership. She is the Finance Director, Administration officer and Progress/Traceability Manager, as well occasional machine operator!

Pat has worked in industrial environments most of her career and has assisted in the operation of manufacturing departments.

During the years Pat has been involved with, and spearheaded modern manufacturing systems, such as Kaizen, 5S principles and continuous improvement

Joining Adrian when they took over the business, she has ensured these best practices have complemented Adrians experience.
